The entire course has been recently re-grassed using Bemni-Bermuda Grass on the tees, fairways, and rough. Bemni is a fine textured grass that holds its color longer in the winter months and is very drought tolerant. TifEagle Bermuda Grass was used on the greens, which has a fine texture, dark green color, and is extremely tolerant to low mowing heights… allowing for very fast putting surfaces.
 

The recent renovation allowed every green to be optimized by increasing the usable putting surface. The course has a layout unlike others in Southwest Florida. It’s challenging yet playable design offers its members and their guests 18 unique holes. Pro/Angle sand was used in the bunkers, which is more coarse and gives the most optimal playing condition. The course is kept extremely dry by using it’s recently installed single-point irrigation and original sand base from construction. The Club at Renaissance is known for having one of the best draining courses in all of Southwest Florida.

In terms of play, the average pace of play at The Club at Renaissance is a brisk 3 hours and 45 minutes. The course was designed for a variety of handicap levels. Recently, 6 new championship tees and 5 new forward tees were added to give the most optional tee setups when playing the Championship Golf Course. The course yardages range from 7,248 yards at the Championship Tee while the Most Forward Tee plays at 4,660 yards). The course offers 8 different tees with a variety of distances.

The newly added “54” is an integrated par-3 layout hidden within the slopes and mounds of the existing championship layout. This hidden Short Course was created for golfers of all ages and abilities, offering distances ranging from 78 to 131 yards with a total course length of 2,003 yards. The “54” allows avid golfers to sharpen their short-game skills, while also providing beginners, juniors and seniors an opportunity to play a less-intimidating round at a faster pace.  The golf industry is constantly looking for a fun faster pace experience and The Club at Renaissance has definitely provided something special for its members and guests with the addition of the ‘54”.
